With the lack of sporting events going on, Sportsbooks have pulled out all the stops to try and keep their revenue stream going. No soccer in the most of the world you say, not so fast they reply! There is soccer going on in the traditional soccer staples of Belarus, Nicaragua, and Burundi. I don’t even know what percentage of people in this country could tell you where all these countries are on a world map. I admit I’d struggle with it too! But let’s face it, we need something!!
Let’s not deceive ourselves, the options are extremely limited. At this point horse racing has an opportunity to make a comeback as there are a few tracks in the US and around the world that are running races daily. It’s a quick and easy way to get your fix in. There’s also some more obscure sports such as table tennis and darts. My best advice to you is good luck with that! But in these times, beggars really can’t be choosers, so I choose to be grateful that something is out there!
Fortunately, tomorrow is the NFL draft and the sportsbooks are having a field day. Prop bets galore on who will be taken by whom and when. Hoping the Jets get Jeudy, but it’s all a crap shoot. Hoping that the virtual draft will be entertaining to watch, but I don’t have my hopes up after catching some of last week’s WNBA draft. Something felt off, but it doesn’t matter to the books, they’re hoping people get in to that action and I, for one, think they will.
